Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training

The Placentia Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates residents about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their community and educates residents on basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Using the training learned in the classroom and during practical exercises, CERT members can then assist others in their neighborhood or workplace immediately following an event when professional emergency responders are not immediately available to help.

CERT training is provided free of charge, but pre-registration is required for each class. The City of Placentia works in cooperation with the cities of Brea and Yorba Linda to provide the training. The Fall Session is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 and will cover a variety of topics, including:

  • Fire Safety
  • CERT Team Organization
  • Light Search and Rescue
  • Terrorism Awareness
  • Disaster Psychology
  • Disaster Medical Operations

Classes will be held at the Yorba Linda Community Center. For the full schedule of classes and registration information, please click on the following link:
