Street Maintenance
Street Maintenance provides for the maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, storm drains, sewers, and road shoulders. Street Maintenance is responsible for street sweeping and striping, traffic legend painting and sign installation, and administration of contract graffiti removal. This division performs special projects such as weed abatement, emergency storm drain and sewer repair, response to citizen complaints, and inventories for street maintenance contracts.
Equipment Maintenance
Equipment Maintenance is the back bone which provides support to all City departments through preventive maintenance and repair of vehicles and specialized equipment used citywide. Equipment Maintenance maintains accurate repair records and a repair inventory for all City vehicles and equipment. This division is responsible for City compliance with all State and County laws for vehicles and fuel. Specifications are prepared for all new vehicles and equipment and emergency road services, maintenance of City emergency equipment, and welding services are also performed. Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is credited with being responsible for the upkeep of the city owned NGV station. This station provides CNG gas to the public 24hrs a day.
Park Maintenance
Park Maintenance maintains all City parks and City-owned landscaping through staff personnel and contract services. This division supports other departments through plan reviews, playground equipment installation, and contract administration for Tri-City Park. Park Maintenance coordinates safety training programs, performs graffiti removal in parks, performs chemical spraying, installs and repairs irrigation systems, and responds to citizen complaints.
Building Maintenance
Building Maintenance performs and coordinates maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance for all City-owned buildings and administers contracts for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and carpet cleaning. Building Maintenance prepares specifications for special repair projects as well as performing emergency repairs as necessary. This division also coordinates energy usage reduction for all City-owned buildings.
Engineering
Engineering Division coordinates and performs plan reviews for all private development projects in the City. This division coordinates the engineering design for capital projects as well as providing construction inspection services. Engineering also performs traffic engineering and safety services, coordination of engineering consultant services, coordination of transportation items, and technical engineering support to other departments.
