The History Behind the Ordinance
On January 17, 2006, Placentia City Council
approved a parking prohibition ordinance. Starting March 6, 2006, the City of Placentia began issuing courtesy notices for vehicles that impede the path of street sweepers. Effective April 3, 2006, the Placentia Police Department
began issuing citations.
The City’s goal is to maintain an attractive, healthy, and clean environment. In addition to complying with state and federal requirements, regular street sweeping will help eliminate breeding grounds for pests such as mosquitoes as well as remove abandoned vehicles from city streets.
