City Hall Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations
The City of Placentia is continually seeking grant opportunities for resources that will benefit the community through new and/or expanded services and programs, as well as reduce the operating costs of the city. As a result of this effort, the City acquired 10 new Chevy Spark electric vehicles (EV) to replace fuel inefficient fleet vehicles, and installed 12 electric charging stations at the Civic Center complex with the use of California Environmental Protection Agency (CA EPA) grants, Air Quality Management District (AQMD) grants and Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) Clean Transportation funding.
Two EV charging stations are now available for the general public’s use while visiting or conducting business at the Civic Center. There is no cost to the public to use these dedicated EV charging stations. The charging stations will keep the City’s new electric vehicles on the road, providing various services to our community, while at the same time reducing long-term fuel and maintenance costs, as well as helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
station provides compressed natural gas to the public 24 hours a day.
