The General Detective Bureau of the Placentia Police Department is currently made up of a lieutenant (supervisor), three detectives, and a civilian investigator. The general detectives are responsible for investigating crimes ranging from petty theft to homicide.
Special Enforcement Detail
The Special Enforcement Detail is an investigative unit charged with the investigation of gang, vice, and narcotic-related crimes occurring in and around Placentia. The unit is supervised by a police sergeant, and when fully staffed is comprised of six detectives and one reserve police officer.
The Crime Prevention serves as public outreach for citizens including Volunteer Police and Chaplins.
School Resource Officers
Currently there are three school resource officers, with one officer assigned to Valencia High School/Kraemer Middle School, one officer assigned to El Dorado High School/Tuffree Middle School, and one officer assigned to El Camino High School/Valadez Middle School.
