As of February 1, 2012 the Placentia Redevelopment Agency was dissolved.
Based on Assembly Bill x1 26, signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown, the Placentia Redevelopment Agency ceased to exist as of February 1, 2012. 2012 Grand Jury Report on Redevelopment
The Orange County Grand Jury release a report on June 22, 2012 titled, "The Dissolution of Redevelopment: Where Have We Been? What Lies Ahead?" The report (PDF) can be read online.
On July 17, 2012 the City Council approved a response letter, as required by law, and submitted the letter to the presiding judge of the Superior Court. The letter (PDF) can be read. The staff report transmitting the draft letter for City Council consideration (PDF) can be read.

The final report from the State Controller's Office (PDF) in their audit of 18 agencies, including Placentia's, was issued on March 7,2011. The Agency's comments to the draft report can be found onine (PDF). Overall, the former Agency was pleased with the opportunity to have been reviewed by the State Controller's Office (SCO). History of the RDA
The Redevelopment Agency was formed in 1983 and expanded in 1990 and 2004 to its ultimate size of 278 acres. The agency area was in the southwest portion of the City primarily bounded by Orangethorpe Avenue, Placentia Avenue, and Chapman Avenue on the north. At this time due to dissolution, there is no agency and the project area ceased to exist.

AB 987 Database
Per Assembly Bill 987 (Chapter 690, 2007) as codified in California Health and Safety Code Section 33418(c), the Agency is responsible to post on the City's website a list of housing units constructed, rehabilitated, or otherwise assisted with Agency Low and Moderat Income Housing Funds. These are not units that are available for rental or ownership - only units assisted by the Agency - please do not contact or disturb the occupants.
