Placentia Teen Center - 116 North Walnut Avenue, Placentia
The City of Placentia celebrated the Grand Reopening of the Placentia Teen Center at KraemerPark - 116 N. Walnut Avenue on Wednesday, June 5th at 3:00 p.m. Mayor Shader gave thewelcoming remarks and shared highlights of the improvements made to the site. Guest speakersChief of Police Lenyi and Placentia Community Foundation Chairperson Vivian Perez spoke of theimportance of providing local teens a safe, fun, and educational after school environment. After theceremonial ribbon cutting, all attendees were invited inside the site to enjoy music, games, a 3Dprinter presentation, and delicious food. The reopening and improvements were made possiblethrough grant funding provided by the North Orange County Public Safety Task Force and apartnership with the Placentia Community Foundation.The grant funding provided a number of upgrades including: new furnishings, a variety of excitingtechnology, and instructional classes to include, art, music, and cooking. Teens who are interested in computer design now have Mac computers and 3D printers available.
The City of Placentia wouldlike to extend a sincere appreciation to the students of Cal State Fullerton’s Senior Level CapstoneGraphic Arts classes for creating and designing the new Teen Center logo, to Mario Villamil,President of Orange County Youth Soccer League for his generous donation of a 50” smarttelevision and mounting bracket, and to DJ Xela for providing music for the event.
