[ARCHIVED] Local Hazard Mitigation Plan - Public Meeting and Outreach Survey

all american city and seal

Help the City of Placentia with the development of its 2023 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Floods, earthquakes, fires, and severe weather are just a few of the hazards of concern to our City. While natural hazards such as these cannot be prevented, a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) forms the foundation for a community's long-term strategy to reduce disaster losses by breaking the repeated cycle of disaster damage and reconstruction. Communities with a FEMA-approved LHMP are eligible to apply for both pre-and post-disaster mitigation grant funding and are better positioned to respond and recover when disasters occur.

Nationwide, taxpayers pay billions of dollars annually, helping communities, organizations, businesses, and individuals recover from disasters. Some disasters are predictable, and, in many cases, much of the damage can be reduced or even eliminated through hazard mitigation planning.

You are invited – to Public Meeting #2 on this project – the Risk Assessment Meeting.

During our second Planning and Public Meetings, we will be reviewing the risk assessment data developed to date for each hazard and are looking for your feedback in refining and adding to the in-process Risk Assessment Chapter. We encourage attendance and participation from the general public at either our upcoming Planning Committee or Public Meetings; please select the time that works best for you:
