The Placentia Military Banner Recognition Program, known as Placentia "Hometown Heroes," is accepting applications for the 2025 installation through October 20th. This program honors Placentia residents who are currently serving on active duty or are honorably discharged veterans in the United States Armed Forces. It recognizes service members from all branches, including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, National Guard, Navy, and Space Force. To be eligible, individuals must either be current residents of Placentia, have an immediate family member (parent, spouse, son, daughter, grandparent) residing in Placentia, or be employed in Placentia. Additionally, service members must be employed in Placentia for at least one year or have enlisted from the city.
The banners will be displayed along Kraemer Boulevard and Yorba Linda Boulevard, with installations scheduled for November. Each banner will remain on display for two years and will be given to the honoree at the end of this period. The cost for each customized banner is $260, and only one banner per service member is allowed. Applications are available on the City's website and can be submitted to the Placentia Police Department.
