About Committees and Commissions

A Joint Effort

Commission and Committee members are appointed by the City Council and are assigned to certain responsibilities in specified areas. The Commissions and Committees serve as advisory groups to the City Council on matters within their area of interest as prescribed by the City Charter and/or the City Council. Placentia uses the recommendations from its various advisory groups to improve the functionality and well-being of the City.

Commission and Committee appointments are made by the City Council as positions become vacant and/or on an annual basis. Applications are accepted all year-round and are kept on file for future vacancies. Please click on the Commissions/Committees below for description of membership, meetings, mission statement, duties and responsibilities, agendas, minutes, etc.

In compliance with the requirements of the Maddy Act, Government Code 54970, the following appointment list is posted on an annual basis by December 31. The list contains the names of all incumbents with appointment dates and term expiration dates as well as listing of all boards, commissions and committees whose members serve as the pleasure of the legislative body.
